Summary

The Driver Recruiter is responsible for introducing driving opportunities to prospective drivers. The Recruiter will answer incoming calls, online inquiries, make outbound calls and respond to various recruiting leads. The Recruiter will interview, screen, and make conditional job offers to qualified candidates.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Respond to and act on various leads and sell driving opportunities by telephone, online and in person.

  • Take incoming calls from prospective drivers and driver trainees.

  • Follow up via phone or written contact with all pending candidates.

  • Introduce program offerings and career opportunities, conduct a needs analysis, effectively deal with callers' objections, and close on quality candidates to hire with Heyl Truck Lines.

  • Subject matter expert on Heyl Truck Lines and driving career opportunities we offer.

  • Know and understand DOT Regulations, and Federal and State Employment laws.

  • Conduct interviews with qualified candidates.

  • Evaluate and make conditional job offers to those candidates who meet hiring criteria.

  • Inform candidates of the additional requirements and paperwork needed to continue the recruiting process.

  • Interface with internal departments for candidates' screening/testing.

  • Meet or exceed specific weekly, monthly, and quarterly hiring goals.

  • Maintain superior customer service.

  • Responsible for utilizing weekly reports, new driver audit integrity, and other tracking tools.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize workload; attention to detail

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills - both written and oral

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Ability to make decisions based on objective data obtained from applications and during interviews

  • Ability to work within a team by providing support to other team members and maintaining productivity levels

  • Previous recruiting experience in a high-volume recruiting environment preferred, but not required

  • Previous experience with Tenstreet preferred, but not required

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in Sales/Customer Service/Transportation/Recruiting/Human Resources

Computer Skills

Advanced computer & software skills required

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00 PM

Average work week of 40 hours. Additional hours and weekend support will be required on an as-needed basis.
