Job Title: Retention Manager
Summary
The Retention Manager is responsible for maintaining and building relationships and rapport with our fleet of drivers to reduce turnover and increase driver satisfaction. They will work closely with all departments to ensure the driver experience is as positive as possible.
Essential Functions
Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral and written. Pleasant and positive personality. Ability to demonstrate good judgment, initiative, and the ability to make sound business decisions. Must be able to effectively and accurately complete work with a sense of urgency. Possess effective organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to maintain composure and react professionally during periods of stress. Demonstrate confidentiality standards and judgment in handling personal information. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently to get results. Proficient in various computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
· Respond to and act on various inquiries from drivers – phone calls, emails, etc – helping to solve or answer any questions or issues they may be experiencing.
· Take incoming calls from current drivers.
· Follow up via phone or written contact when applicable.
· Work with other departments as necessary to help solve any problems or issues for the driver.
· Know and understand DOT Regulations, and Federal and State Employment laws.
· Meet or exceed company standards and goals for turnover.
· Maintain superior customer service with drivers and all Internal Departments.
· Responsible for utilizing weekly/monthly reports and other tracking tools
· All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize workload; attention to detail
· Effective interpersonal communication skills - both oral and written
· Self-motivated and self-directed
· Previous experience in a position where sound judgment, initiative, and tactful communication skills were demonstrated.
· Previous experience working with professional drivers
· Ability to solve problems in a professional manner
· Ability to type and use personal computers, submit reports using MS Office, and other internal software programs
· Ability to work within a team by providing support to other team members and maintaining productivity levels
· Willingness to travel to Heyl's Akron, IA headquarters for training time to time, to continue your development in this position
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience in the Transportation Industry
· Previous experience working directly with professional drivers
· Truck driving experience is a plus

· Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
· Additional hours and weekend support will be required on an as needed basis
