Summary
The position of Shop Office Manager is a key position within the organization responsible for the planning, coordinating, and implementation of process and procedures to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of all fleet vehicles. Additionally, this role is responsible for the oversight and management of service advisors, wash bay personnel, detailers, and yard/gate guards.
Essential Functions & Duties
Maintain a highly efficient and cost-effective shop to ensure a well-maintained and operational fleet of trucks for the company.
Oversee, direct, and manage all service advisors, wash bay, detailers, yard and gate personnel.
Plan and prioritize equipment service based upon schedule and making on-time delivery appointments.
Ensure trailer equipment is clean and ready.
Provide a list of equipment to clean each day and directing detail work accordingly.
Keep an accurate inventory of equipment on the yard.
Maintain shop maintenance reporting.
Conduct yard checks regularly to ensure accurate yard inventory and confirming trailers are set at the correct temperature.
Log fuel and DEF for each piece of equipment.
Communicate and provide updates on equipment to service writers, driver managers, and/or drivers.
Communicate and provide updates on sale equipment to internal and/or external sales representatives.
Coordinate repair and maintenance plans, schedule performance of needed work, procuring supporting parts, and maintaining all necessary documentation for the process.
Responsible for ensuring that the shop (including all tools and inventory) is maintained in a clean, safe, and effective manner.
Responsible for identifying areas of improvement and making suggestions for those improvements regarding process, methodology, and personnel.
Thorough understanding of industry best practices for safety including DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations as applied to the transportation industry.

High school diploma or equivalent required, Diesel Certification preferred
Management training preferred
Experience
Knowledge of the Transportation industry
2 or more years of experience in management
2 or more years of experience in a maintenance setting
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Additional Eligibility Qualifications
CDL is helpful but not required
Computer Skills
Advanced computer & software skills required
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 5:00PM with an average work week of 45 hours. Additional hours and support will be required on an as needed basis.

Work is mostly performed in an environment that is subject to temperature fluctuations as the outdoor temperature fluctuates. This job requires a moderate degree of physical fitness and mobility. Bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 100 lbs. is required.
